REQUEST FOR BIDS

MAINTENANCE SERVICE AGENCY

Five (5) Part-time Employees

The Mathematics, Civics and Sciences Charter School of Philadelphia, Inc.(MCSCS) is inviting maintenance agencies to provide five (5) part-time employees to perform general maintenance duties.  Hours are 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.   

Information on MCSCS can be obtained through our website at mcscs.org.  Bids can be submitted starting October 11, 2013 through email at info@mcscs.org. Questions should be directed to Wanda Haines at (215)923-4880.  Deadline for bid submission is November 1, 2013. 

Pre-Qualifications:  Should have a minimum of 3 years in the business and supply references. Must have a valid business license from the City of Philadelphia and carry your own general liability insurance and workers compensation.  It is mandatory that criminal background checks are provided on all employees assigned to work at MCSCS.

Did You Know?

• All young people experience learning losses when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer. Research spanning 100 years shows that students typically score lower on standardized tests at the end of summer vacation than they do on the same tests at the beginning of the summer (White, 1906; Heyns, 1978; Entwisle & Alexander 1992; Cooper, 1996; Downey et al, 2004).
  
• Most students lose about two months of grade level equivalency in mathematical computation skills over the summer months. Low-income students also lose more than two months in reading achievement, despite the fact that their middle-class peers make slight gains (Cooper, 1996).

IMPORTANT CHARTER SCHOOL RENEWAL MEETING, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 @ School District of Philadelphia!

You are needed to attend the School Reform Commission (SRC) meeting on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. The SRC will vote on a five year charter renewal. 

Please come out to The School District of Philadelphia, 440 North Broad Street.  Please arrive at the school at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15^th or as soon as possible to let your support be known that our school deserves a five year charter.
